me: “my head is dying for a good scratch and I can’t get to it because I’m afraid of ripping out the extensions … what do i do?”
dee: “Ahh yes. The hard to reach scalp is so annoying. I either do what I call the ‘black girl pat’ or I use a comb with the point at the end to reach the hard to scratch places.”
me: “i’m actually laughing really hard right now.”
dee: “i’m happy you find it so amusing, but this is a real life issue.”
An older Jewish man that works in my building holds the door open for me while I walk up to the front door, leaving about a foot of space between us to squeeze through.
“Are you Jewish?” He asks while I approach.
I’m a little offended at the question so I say, “No - so does that mean you’re going to shut the door in my face?”
“Yes,” as he lets go, walks away with his friend and the door hits me in the back.
Just thinking about life and at what point it is that we realize the thing we want to do with the rest of it.
